About us:
Our 2021-2022 year started out very promising: Special Olympics AZ SCYSAC Delegation was approved in September. We competed at Bocce with 4 teams at SOAZ regional and State games in October. Our athletes had a great time at the competitions all winning medals.
A picnic was enjoyed by our SCYSAC group October 22, 2021 with plans to begin SYSAC morning meetings Oct 29, 2021 with a Halloween Party.
Then a Covid exposure caused the cancellation of the October 29th Halloween Party, bowling was suspended for 2 weeks and the Friday morning meetings were postponed until January 2022.
We were still able to have 9 Athletes compete at the SOAZ regional Bowling competition in November. In addition to SOAZ Bowling a few of our members were volunteers for the day at the SOAZ Golf Competition on November 13, 2021 held at Sun City Country Club.
Zoom Bingo for SCYSAC members was held in October and November and by popular demand is scheduled for December 8th
HOTW Governor Andrew Wheeler spoke at our November monthly meeting with great insight and ideas for our club based on the four Impact Areas. Thank you Andy. Thanks also to Lynda Wheeler, CI Region 8 Director who updated us on the sale of the International Headquarters Building.
Donations were given to the Phoenix Bird Civitan Club to support their Jack Adams Walk-a-Thon and to West Valley View Food Bank for Thanksgiving turkeys.
We will continue to have Friday Bowling until Christmas break December 17 to the first Friday in January.
A SCYSAC Christmas Party is being planned for December 17, 2021.
The next club meeting is December 21, 2021.
Our 3rd Annual Golf Tournament Fund raiser is February 19, 2022 watch for the flyer and information on the HOTW face book and website.
